
Wright most recently served on the Advertising Club of New York executive board and chaired the nominating committee, which selected and welcomed seven new board members. Previously he has served on the program and nominating committees.
He spent the majority of his career as EVP, Group Publisher of Adweek Magazines (Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, Editor & Publisher) where he oversaw advertising and marketing strategy for six magazines, 18 online products, custom-publishing and seven events/awards shows. More recently, he served as Vice President, Sales, North America for Eye Corp, an Australian-based Out-of-Home media company selling mall advertising.
Currently, Wright heads up Ferguson & Associates, a media sales organization offering Business Reader, an electronic news feed service available to media agencies. The company also represents various media companies looking to grow their presence and revenue within the US advertising market.
Active in the advertising industry, Wright is a long time club and board member of ACNY and attended its Advertising and Marketing course in 1991. He served on the board of the American Advertising Federation (the governing body of ad clubs), judged three National Student Advertising Competitions, and was on the board of advisors of Selfchec, a non-profit devoted to cancer awareness and prevention.
