Benjamin Palmer is a co-founder of The Barbarian Group, and has served as its CEO since the company’s inception in 2001. In that short span, he has risen to become one of the most respected voices in the world of digital and interactive advertising. His work and thinking has earned him such accolades as Creativity’s ‘50 top creatives’ and one of Esquire’s ‘Best and Brightest’.
Benjamin’s leadership is recognized throughout the industry, earning him seats on juries of The Art Directors Club and New York Festivals. From 2011, Benjamin will act as President of the Art Director’s Club and Jury Chairman of the One Show Interactive Awards—some of the industries most prestigious honors. He is also a member of Creative Social and the IAB Advisory Board.
Benjamin leads the creative and cultural vision of The Barbarian Group, overseeing creative as well as the company’s overall direction. He is integral to the spirit and spunk of the agency and has been intimately involved with the bulk of the company’s work since the beginning. Benjamin continues to operate in the trenches with his teams as a hands-on CEO, maintaining the integrity of the company’s creative output and setting a clear vision for the future.
In his capacity as CEO, Benjamin has lead The Barbarian Group to a pivotal role in transforming the digital industry from an experiment into a central force in successful marketing. His style of leadership has fostered the shop’s sense of purpose, rebellion, innovation and growth. The Barbarian Group has been named Creativity’s Interactive Agency of the Year (2006) and Digital Company of the Year (2008), and was recently recognized as one of the world’s 50 most innovative companies by Fast Company.
